Fiber Opening and Blending Equipment |

With design and manufacturing completed in the USA, there is no need to rely on foreign suppliers for design or service. Manufactured, as well as purchased components of each piece of the opening and blending quipment line is of the highest quality; yet still provides an economical and dependable system for many years to the customer. The pictures you see below briefly outline the Fiber Opening and Blending Equipment line that Signal Machine produces. There are several other options and processes available that aren't shown here. | The process starts by loading the Primary Feed Table to the Metering Bale Opener, manufactured by Signal Machine Inc. Various options and configurations are available to meet system requirements. This unit is seen with the optional bale tipper. After the material reaches the Secondary Feed Table, it reaches the Main Spike Apron, and the fiber begins the opening process. Our system allows for adjustment in this area so that the customer can meet their desired degree of fiber opening, and also maintain the maximum throughput of the system. | |

After a certain (weighed) amount of material passes through the Metering Bale Opener it feeds onto a Collecting Conveyor and into a Horizontal Pre-Opener. The Horizontal Pre-Opener is for pre-opening and mixing fibers in preparation for carding/web formation or further downstream preparation. |

As the fiber exits the Horizontal Pre-Opener it passes through a Hump Magnet System to trap any metal which could have been introduced to the fiber prior to transporting it downstream. Shown next is an optional Vertical Fine Opener. The Vertical Fine Opener is based on the same working concept as the Horizontal Pre-Opener allowing the bulk fiber to be further opened prior to delivery to the card. |

The fiber is now transported to the Metal Reject and Abort System. This is the final checkpoint for metal impurities within the fiber prior to delivery to the card. |
